UPDATE — September 2026: Two years after kicking off their 2024 fall tour at Big Night Live, The Warning are headed back to Boston — this time for a much bigger stage. The band will headline MGM Music Hall at Fenway on May 23, 2027. Check out the upcoming show on the Concert Guy calendar here.

The Warning kicked off their fall tour on 9/13 in Boston…and it was a pretty awesome start! They’ve opened for some big acts in the recent past (Guns n Roses, Halestorm, Foo Fighters, the Muse) and have grown their fanbase. This was obvious to me when we got to the venue before doors opened and the line was wrapped around the corner and down the block.

On the road with them is a band named Holy Wars. While the name would be fitting, they are not a Megadeth cover band, but they were good! They had a Prodigy, Ministry and Garbage vibe all in one if you ask me. They were definitely the heavier band of the night, with that thick industrial sound. This was not a band I was familiar with prior to tonight but will be checking them out. Their female singer can definitely scream, but she can sing too. Great opener overall with a lot of energy.

As fun as the opener was, this crowd was here to see the Warning. If you’re not familiar with this band, they are 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. The youngest member is currently only 19, though they’ve been around for years (more than 10) which is just crazy. They have a new album out (their 3rd full length album I do believe), which I recommend checking out.

They opened the show with their song S!ck, and had posted a full length video of it on their Instagram page before I even got home. This song has been getting a lot of play on SiriusXM and rock radio. If I’m not mistaken, it’s also their first song to chart on Billboard, and has cracked the top 10 on other charts. Very cool! The one letter song, Z, was next followed by Choke. Choke is a great tune from their previous album ERROR.

The band, while still so young are old pros now. They were seemingly relaxed and having fun while moving though their set. No first night jitters. Although, when they got to Money, another great tune from their previous album, they had a bit of a false start. But no worries, they restarted the song and kicked its ass this time. Consume, from their new album, was next. I like this one a lot mostly because of her potty mouth. Let those F-bombs fly!

Hell You Call a Dream showed up in the set a bit later. This is my favorite track from the new record. It’s such an earworm for me and it’s hard to remove it once it’s gets in there. But since it’s a great tune, I’m ok with it. Automatic Sun and Martirio closed out the show. Then they took a little breather and came back out for the encore which consisted of Narcisista and Evolve.

While Dany is the lead singer, all 3 of them lend their vocals to the experience, with both the bassist (Ale) and drummer (Pau) having lead parts.

The venue itself, Big Night Live, turns into a club scene at night so the whole show was over just before 9:30 which seems crazy these days. But with a 90 min ride home, I was ok with it. As for the crowd, there were plenty of younger kids in there, many with their parents which is nice to see. I’m all for the bands that actually play their own music and still appeal to the youngins. Vocals, drums, guitars, bass…we need more of this!

Now, I saw these ladies 2 or 3 years ago on the Halestorm bill and at that time, I knew none of their songs. But they were awesome and I became a fan. Three songs that stuck out at that show were Choke, Money, and Evolve. I started listening to their stuff after that show and really dug those 3 songs (and many more). I was glad they’re all part of their set list still, though a little bummed they removed their rendition of Enter Sandman from the setlist. Ah well.

Now I’d be a douche if I didn’t mention this part of the show. We had every intention of getting there early to try to get close since it was a general admission show. But as usual, traffic from southern RI to Boston sucked ass. By the time we got there, there was one hell of a line before doors opened (great for the band but for me, Del, and Frank). Once in the venue, we parked ourselves by the sound booth. It seemed like a good spot at first, until the place really filled up. Del was not digging this and decided, “we’re going VIP!” So we upgraded our spot in the venue to private seating, above the crowd with our own viewing space, drinks, and a dedicated waitress. Unnecessary, but much appreciated and a way better viewing experience. Thanks Del! I had a blast and Frank did too! As I’ve stated in the past, I love the whole concert experience and this certainly elevated it.

To wrap this thing up, over the years I’ve been to many general admission shows and was able to get right up front, and hold my spot throughout the night. With this prime concert real estate, I very often was able to snag a guitar pick from the band. I have a cigar box full of these gems. Tonight, we weren’t close enough to catch one, but they sell them at their merch booth for $5. A steal if you ask me! I love that some bands are now doing this for the collectors like myself. Thanks ladies! Awesome show and great merch!
