Concert-Guy is an independent New England music publication covering live music, artists, and the concert scene throughout the region.
Based in Rhode Island, Concert-Guy features original concert reviews, live music photography, music news, artist coverage, tour announcements, weekly concert guides, and a curated calendar of upcoming shows across New England.
Rock and metal may get plenty of attention around here, but the coverage doesn’t stop there. If there’s a worthwhile show—or an interesting story behind the music—it’s fair game.
The goal has always been pretty simple: cover live music from the perspective of someone who genuinely loves going to shows.
Meet Rob
I’m Rob, founder and editor of Concert-Guy—and yes, I really am the concert guy.
Long before there was a website, I was always the friend willing to go to pretty much any concert.
Growing up in a rural town, a lot of my friends weren’t exactly eager to drive to Providence, Hartford, Boston or wherever else a show might take us. I was.
That frequently resulted in a pretty good arrangement: someone had an extra ticket, I had a car, and I became the driver.
A lot of concerts later, the nickname fits.
Over the years I’ve attended 500+ performances featuring more than 375 bands across 60+ venues, from small clubs to arenas and stadiums—and those numbers keep growing.
Concert-Guy originally started as a place to document those experiences: new shows I attended, old stories pulled from the archives, and the occasional show covered by a guest writer.
It has since grown into something considerably bigger.
What Concert-Guy Covers
Today, Concert-Guy covers the New England music scene through concert reviews, original photography, music news, new releases, artist features, tour announcements and upcoming concert coverage.
The Concert-Guy Events Calendar tracks noteworthy shows throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut and the rest of New England, while weekly concert guides highlight what’s happening around the region.
Concert-Guy also works with artists, publicists, promoters and venues on coverage opportunities, including new music, interviews and live events.
The site remains independently run, which means the personality isn’t going anywhere. You won’t find corporate review scores or every show mysteriously receiving a glowing review.
It’s music coverage written by a concert fan, for concert fans.
